As a discipline, Financial Management enables a learner internalize these views and various concepts related to procurement and utilization of funds for achieving business objectives.
This course enables the learner to have an overview of the current issues in Financial Management. It also helps the learner apply his or her knowledge of Financial Management to solve practical problems related to capital budgeting, management of working capital, management of receivables and various ratio analyses to evaluate the performance of the finance organization.
Marketing Management
No organization operates in isolation from a marketplace. Unless it invests time, money and energy to ascertain the needs of its consumers and develops various marketing solutions to cater to these needs, it finds it difficult to survive in a highly competitive landscape.
Marketing, as a subject of management, provides the learner with fundamental concepts related to markets and customers, their decision-making processes, and explains its concepts of segmentation, targeting and positioning products and services.
It enables a learner explain the various stages of the product lifecycle and craft strategies for developing new products, while also adopting suitable pricing strategies. Further, it explains the marketing communication process and enables the learner to determine an appropriate promotional plan for products and services.
General Principles of Management
Management involves decision-making and problem-solving on a day-to-day basis. Understanding management principles and the managerial processes would enable the student to take decisions that would move towards organizational effectiveness. This course is designed to give students an exposure to the science of management and an introduction to managerial roles and functions.
The students would learn topics such as planning, organizing, staffing, motivation, leadership and controlling. The specific concepts discussed here include hierarchy, human resource management, theories of motivation and leadership, control systems and practices.
Performance Appraisal and Talent Management
This course explains the ways and means of managing employee performance in an organizational setting. This course observes the major talent management strategies in place and dwells on the approach to implementing apt strategies.
This course examines and facilitates participants in understanding the controls and processes that drive an effective performance. Further, the course also explains the ways and means of appreciating an employee for his achievements and shortfalls to enhance transparency at the work place.
A brief on the ethics and settings that govern an efficient performance appraisal and a talent management system will also be provided.
Training and Development
This course explains the strategies that are involved in developing an employee’s skills and/or knowledge about the key parameters necessary to perform in an organization. It also examines the best strategies in place for employee development and explains them in relative terms.
This course also explains the need for individual development in an organization and the ways and means to identify the emerging knowledge needs of an individual. It examines the knowledge needs and their implementation methodologies which, in turn, are evaluated as a career and/or job enrichment plan.
Change Management
This course facilitates individuals to understand the need for change in an organization. It dwells on various factors that initiate a need for change and the ways and means to react to it.
It also helps individuals identify, examine and react to a particular change. It explains the key obstacles to change from a psychological and sociological perspective. The course explains the inherent challenges in implementing change and the strategies to overcome these challenges.
